Affiliate Disclosure

Timeless Travel Chapters is a reader-supported, independently owned travel publication. In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, here’s a clear explanation of how we make money and how affiliate links work on this site.

What are affiliate links?

An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click one and go on to book a hotel, buy a tour, or purchase a travel service, the company pays us a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the company’s site.

Which affiliate programs do we use?

We participate in a small number of travel-focused affiliate programs, matched to the categories we cover: hotels and accommodation, tours and activities, and travel services like insurance and eSIMs. Programs we currently work with or plan to work with include:

  • Booking.com and Agoda — hotels and accommodation
  • Trip.com — hotels, flights, and trains
  • Klook, GetYourGuide, and Viator — tours, activities, and tickets
  • SafetyWing and World Nomads — travel insurance
  • Airalo — eSIMs and mobile connectivity

We also plan to apply for Google AdSense to show display advertising once the site is ready, and may pursue brand or tourism-board partnerships as the site grows.

Does this affect our recommendations?

No. We never recommend a hotel, tour, or service solely because it pays the highest commission, and we don’t let affiliate relationships dictate our editorial opinions. Our recommendations are based on research and, where noted, firsthand experience — the “why” always comes before any “check availability” or “book now” link. If we haven’t personally used something, we say so.

Where you’ll see affiliate links

You’ll mostly see affiliate links inside “Where to Stay,” “Things to Do,” and itinerary-style guides — typically noted inline (for example, next to a hotel or tour recommendation) rather than hidden. Some pages may also carry a short disclosure note near the top for extra clarity. Any sponsored content or paid partnership will always be clearly labeled as such, separate from our regular editorial coverage.
