Visitors hiking at the Marble Mountains near Da Nang, Vietnam

2 Days in Da Nang: The Perfect Itinerary

Two days is enough to cover Da Nang’s signature sights — the beach, the Marble Mountains, and a full day at Ba Na Hills — without feeling rushed. Add a third day if you want to slow down and explore Son Tra Peninsula or the local markets instead of packing everything into two. Here is exactly how to structure either version.

2 Days or 3 Days in Da Nang?

Two days covers the essentials: a beach morning, the Marble Mountains, and a full day trip to Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge. Three days adds Son Tra Peninsula’s Lady Buddha statue and time to browse the local markets at a slower pace, rather than treating Da Nang purely as a checklist.

3 Days (recommended)Everything in 2 days, plus Son Tra Peninsula and Han/Con MarketLittle — this is the well-rounded version

TTC Verdict: Build your Da Nang trip around the Ba Na Hills day first — it is a full day regardless of how you slice it, and everything else flexes around it. Two days works for a beach-and-mountain stopover; add the third if Da Nang is your main base rather than a quick stop between Hue and Hoi An.

Day 1: Beach, Marble Mountains and the Dragon Bridge

Morning: My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains

Start early at My Khe Beach — mornings are calmer and cooler before the midday heat. From there, head to the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills with cave pagodas and viewpoints; plan on 2 to 2.5 hours including the (optional) elevator up. For more on where to base yourself near the beach, see our where to stay guide.

Afternoon: rest, then the Han River

Take a break from the heat mid-afternoon, then walk the Han River promenade toward the Dragon Bridge area as the light softens. For beach options beyond My Khe, see our full Da Nang beaches guide.

Evening: dinner and the Dragon Bridge fire show

Have dinner near the river, then time your evening around the Dragon Bridge, which breathes fire and water on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. If you are here on a weeknight, skip straight to the rooftop bar and club scene covered in our Da Nang nightlife guide instead.

Day 2: Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

This is a full day, start to finish, so plan nothing else around it. Depart early for the cable car up to Ba Na Hills — home to a Guinness World Record-holding single-track cable car (5,801 meters) — and budget the morning for the Golden Bridge, held up by giant stone hands and one of the most photographed spots in central Vietnam. Book the Ba Na Hills cable car and Golden Bridge tour on Klook.

The rest of the day covers the French Village and Fantasy Park (a theme park built into the mountain complex) before the cable car back down in the late afternoon. Keep the evening light — a low-key dinner is enough after a full day on your feet.

Traveler Tip
Ba Na Hills sits at a much higher elevation than Da Nang city and can be noticeably cooler and foggier, even when it is hot and sunny at the beach. Bring a light layer.

Day 3 (Optional): Son Tra Peninsula and the Markets

Morning: Son Tra Peninsula and the Lady Buddha

Son Tra Peninsula sits just north of the city and is home to the Lady Buddha statue, one of the tallest of its kind in Vietnam, plus coastal viewpoints and a small nature reserve. Plan on 2.5 to 3 hours including the drive out.

Afternoon: Han Market or Con Market

Spend the afternoon browsing Han Market or Con Market for a more local, less touristy shopping experience than the beachfront strip, then close the trip with a food-focused dinner — see our nightlife guide for where the evening scene picks up afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 2 days enough for Da Nang?

Yes, if you treat it as a beach-and-mountain stopover: My Khe Beach, the Marble Mountains, and a full day at Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge. Add a third day if Da Nang is your main base and you want to include Son Tra Peninsula and the local markets.

How much time do you need at Ba Na Hills?

Plan on a full day, including cable car transit — most visitors leave Da Nang city early morning and return by early evening. It is not something you can combine with other sightseeing the same day.

What is the best area to stay in for this itinerary?

Basing yourself near My Khe Beach keeps Day 1 walkable. See our full where to stay guide for neighborhood-by-neighborhood detail.
